Classic Mercedes-Benz Make-Overs

Mercedes-Benz is a name synonymous with luxury and performance – arguably the world’s biggest, oldest and best-known car brand. Since Karl Benz patented his first automobile, with an internal combustion engine, back in 1885 (financed by his wife’s dowry) tens of millions of Mercedes-Benz vehicles have been sold globally.

With a morass of models emerging over the decades, encompassing all genres from lightweight sports cars, compact family cars, elegant roadsters and stately limousines to super-saloons and dauntless six-wheeled SUVs, it is hardly surprising that many from this marvellous marque have become collectible classic cars.

Over the years working on classic cars for our clients we have developed a healthy respect and distinct fondness for Mercedes-Benz vehicles of all shapes and sizes, which are extremely popular among classic car connoisseurs.

Classy, sophisticated and often ahead of their time aesthetically and performance-wise, classic Mercedes Benz cars produced in the 1950s and 60s are particularly desirable for collectors – and some of our older clients are still driving the beloved Mercedes they bought new those many years ago.

We have extensive experience at renovating a wide range of Mercedes-Benz models for their lucky owners. Some of the most iconic Mercedes-Benz classics are:

  • The Mercedes-Benz 220 (or the W187 220), launched in 1951 for a war-weary world looking for a stylish six-cylinder driving experience.
  • The epitome of a Mercedes-Benz classic is the 190SL, its smooth lines making it a head-turner today just as it was when it was launched in 1955.
  • The two-door luxury roadster, the Mercedes-Benz 190SL, was produced between 1955 and 1963 with a soft top or removable hard top.

No matter what make or model of classic Mercedes you have, we’ll be pleased and proud to give it as much TLC as it needs in our fully equipped workshop.
